Frequently Asked Questions

How much does it cost?

  • The rate for edge-to-edge quilting is $.02 per square inch.

  • For example, for a quilt top that measures 52" x 72"  the cost for quilting will be $74.88 plus sales tax (3744x.02 = 74.88).

  • The customer is responsible for shipping costs.

  • There is an additional charge for high density quilting, up to an additional $.01 per square inch, based on the design.

  • I have batting available for purchase, pricing is indicated on the quilting request form.

  • If your backing fabric needs to be pieced, the charge is $10 per seam.

  • You'll receive an estimate detailing costs and prices will be agreed upon before work begins - so don't worry if you have questions, we will iron everything out together.

When will I get my quilt back?

  • Current turn-around time is two weeks from the date that we have your quilt and all necessary info about how to quilt it.

How do you ship?

  •  We use USPS for shipping and will use the most cost-effective option to return ship to you, unless you request expedited shipping.

  • Please let us know if you'd like your quilt shipped another way and we'll do our best to accommodate.

How do I prepare my quilt top for longarming?

  • Press all seams flat and trim excess threads from the quilt top.

  • Repair any holes in seams and remove any pins from the fabric (top and/or backing).

  • Press backing, including any seams if it's pieced.

  • Be sure that backing (and batting, if you're providing) are at least 4" larger than the quilt top on all four sides.

  • Send all layers separately - i.e. do not baste your quilt. All layers are loaded onto the longarm frame individually.

  • Place your quilt into a waterproof bag for shipping - just in case!
