How do I prepare my quilt top for longarming?
-
Press all seams flat and trim excess threads from the quilt top.
-
Repair any holes in seams and remove any pins from the fabric (top and/or backing).
-
Press backing, including any seams if it's pieced.
-
Be sure that backing (and batting, if you're providing) are at least 4" larger than the quilt top on all four sides.
-
Send all layers separately - i.e. do not baste your quilt. All layers are loaded onto the longarm frame individually.
-
Place your quilt into a waterproof bag for shipping - just in case!
